Visiting the Leonards and the big move!

The weekend of Sept 24, we took a trip to visit our friends Jo and Paul Leonard and their children Andrew and Rebecca in Danbury, Essex. We became friends with the Leonards when we were both living in New Jersey. I am glad we have stayed in touch- they are a good laugh!

They have a lovely home with a great big garden that has a trampoline, swing set and pond. We were lucky with the weather and the kids had a ton of fun playing together. Their kids are quite a bit older but they are so good with Esme and always included her in their games.

Andrew was so sweet- waiting to catch her at the bottom.

This is when we realized she had a love for toy cars! Notice the pile up at the bottom- she never got tired of rolling them down!

She also demonstrated a new love for dolls that weekend. Of course, they were American Girl dolls! Only the best for little Esme. SHe pushed them in their pram and even took them on the trampoline. This was her first time on a trampoline. She wasn't sure at first but eventually got the hang of it! Rebecca shared so well with her!

We had a nice BBQ dinner and stayed up chatting for a while. The next day, we went to Andrew's football game! He scored a goal and everything- watching kids play sports is very entertaining!

That is Andrew in #22

Esme watched a bit of the game bit also enjoyed digging in the mole holes and getting dirty. She followed the older girls around- so cute.

Their dog, Sparkles, was a sweetheart and loved the kids- especially Noah

Here is a pic of Esme hanging with the big girls- so adorable!

After the game, we went back to their house and went for a walk through Danbury. It was lovely!

We had a lovely weekend and look forward to hosting the Leonards at our home some day! xx

Before I move on to the move, I just want to share a few of my favorite pictures from late September with you...

Noah has killer hair!

The move was supposed to be pretty relaxed because we had a moving company taking care of all of our stuff for us. The problem is, I tend to overpack and had a lot of boxes delivered to our corporate apartment- the kids needed toys! ;) We had to move all of these boxes from the corporate apartment and it was a misery! Stephen did the majority of the heavy lifting while I stayed with the kids. I never want to move again....for now! The house came furnished so we expected to have to store a lot of their stuff. What we didn't expect was for the house to have EVERYTHING in it. Old dish towels, drunk drawers, etc. We had to pack a second time just to get all of the crap out of the place. We felt a bit like we belonged on Hoarders: Buried Alive for a while but eventually got through the unpacking. Everything made it except the box with the Jumperoo. How you lose a box that big I will never understand. Luckily we have a Johnny Jump up for Noah!

Of course the weather had to be unseasonably warm while we were unpacking. We bought a paddling pool in the Summer clearance sales and set it up in the back garden. Esme loved it. It is so nice to finally have an outdoor space to call our own. Here are a few pics of the kids playing in our new garden :)

She is going to hate me someday...

We son discovered that we have a very friendly neighbor cat that likes to visit us every few days. He makes himself right at home and kind of fills the void we feel without our cats. We call him kitty boy.

We love Greenwich and are so glad to call it home. We have spent many afternoons in the park playground and going on walks. I can't wait to get settled in!

One of our favorite things about the house is our play room/office that is just off of the living room. The kids can play while mommy and daddy relax in the living room! They love it!
