Thanksgiving and beginning of December

Our friend Nick flew was visiting from New York and joined us for Thanksgiving dinner. I made a full dinner complete with all the fixings- even a pumpkin pie! It was a great success and was nice to spend Thanksgiving with a friend. This was also Noah's first Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I had so much to do that I didn't get a picture of the table or the food. I did get a picture of Noah- but it isn't formal and isn't the best shot! Thanksgiving in UK= success. Pictures of this milestone= FAIL.

December started out with a trip to the Taste of Christmas with Steph and Noah. Esme stayed at home with daddy and Uncle David. We had a great time looking around and even enjoyed a nice glass of Champagne. We had two celebrity chef sightings- Gary Rhodes and Rachel Allen. Noah was very well behaved and slept most of the time!

After we were done at the Taste of Christmas, we all met up for a Gourmet Burger Kitchen dinner in Greenwich. A lovely end to a lovely day! xx We are lucky to have such great friends with similar interests. We are also lucky that David and Steph have agreed to be Noah's god parents, along with Guncle James.

On December 3, my childhood best friend, Sara, gave birth to twins, one boy and one girl. Caleb Michael Brown and Alexandra Sitala Brown. The are absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to meet them when we go to Seattle in March!

On December 8, I learned a valuable lesson: ALWAYS check pockets, especially when your toddler loves to color. A red crayon made it into the dryer and got everywhere! I was able to get most of the stains out but two shirts were write offs- I guess it could have been worse! All of her new clothes were in that load and made it out mostly unscathed!

Our first Christmas party of the season was also on December 8. We went to the pleasaunce play group for a party and to see father Christmas. The kids had fun opening presents and playing with other kids. We lost one of Noah's beautiful shoes, though! This was Noah's first experience with father Christmas and he did rather well!

Nat, Jack, Issy and Nat's mom also came for a visit that day. We took a trip to costco to stock up on essentials. Issy was having a bit of a bad day but other than that we had a wonderful time! It is always nice to spend a day shopping with friends!

On December 10th, I woke up to Esme vomiting in my bed. It was lovely and was the beginning of 4 very ugly days of sick toddler. She was comatose and sat on the couch all day. Sick babies are the worst. To top it off, she won't take any meds to break her fever and vomits every time I try to force them on her. We had to resort to tepid baths. Here is a pic of her passed out on the couch, in her pajamas and wellies (that she insisted on wearing).

On December 12th, at 9 months old, my baby boy Crawled for the first time!!!!! It was very exciting and made my entire day! He crawled over to his sister's wellie boots!

Esme was still sick at this point but I had to go to town to pick up a few Christmas presents to mail to the states. We took our usual route through the college and ran into the BBC filming Great Expectations! It was very cool to see all of the Dickensian costumes, carriages, etc. I even saw the star who plays Pip (Douglas Booth). Here is a picture I took from a distance- didn't want to look too crazy!

On December 14, Esme Jean was playing with a toy at her friend Iona's house and poked herself in the eye with it. It didn't do any damage but she flew into such a fit that she passed out for a few seconds. It scared the crud out of Mary (Iona's mom) and I! She soon got over bit but it is the second time in her lifetime that she has done that- so stressful!! I think I may have a drama queen on my hands!

on December 16, we went to the NCT Christmas party at St. Alfege. It was good fun and the kids got great gifts. Noah scored a Buzz Lightyear and Esme got a plush Disney Princess robe!
