The Sunday after we arrived was a very happy day for Grandma Julie! She was finished with her antibiotics and got to see her baby for the first time this trip!
Bath time at Grandma's house
We went to a consignment shop to look for a car seat and Ez found the barbie piano. She is going to be like Grandma Jill and play the piano!
Grandma LOVES her baby
We spent some time on the hill (Grandma Mardine and Grandpa Wil's home) too.
The next day was very exciting for Esme! She got to meet Mommy's friend Michelle and her daughter Avery, Uncle James and Grandpa Gordy!
Uncle James was very excited!
We met Avery, Michelle and Jamers at a park in our mutual hometown of Lynnwood. Avery was about 11 months and Ez was almost 7 months. They may be be more than four months apart but they are about the same size. Aves is tiny and Ez is a monster! How cute are they?
Matching diaper bags, pig tails and majorly cute babies!
Avery is unbelievably adorable.
And so is Ezzy...
High School friends reunited!
Grandpa Gordy couldn't wait to meet his first granddaughter! He hasn't spent much time around babies and he was a little nervous but it all went smoothly. Ez had fun sitting on his lap and playing with the buttons on his overalls and his remote control. He was smitten!
The next day was Grandma Julie's 44th Birthday!
It was a very eventful day! We had family pictures taken and then went to dinner at our family favorite, Tampicos. They have the best Mexican food around. Esme got grandma a humming bird feeder for her birthday and grandma loved it.
Here is a sample of some of our family pictures. We had family pictures of Stephen, Ez and I, three generation pictures with my mom, Ez and I and then I had some pictures taken of Chloe, Esme's cousin, and Ez.
We are very happy with how they turned out even though Ez decided not to smile that day. She was more interested in the sand, beach grass and all of the things she had never seen before than she was in smiling!

The beautiful Esme
My favorite. Look at those eyelashes! I also love the sand falling out of her hand...

That night we celebrated my mom's birthday in Kennedy fashion. Tampicos is our go to birthday dinner destination!
A great picture of Grandma Mardine!
Esme thought Joey was funny
The birthday finale- Grandma was laughing very hard at this point.
Esme met so many people! Next on the list was Auntie Megan and Justin. We had a nice dinner at a restaurant by their apartment on Queen Ann Hill.
Esme loves animals but their rescued dog, Penny Lane, wasn't so sure! She would inch toward Esme but was keeping her legs on their sofa for safety! Very cute!
The next event was dinner with Grandpa Dave, Grandma Vicki, Bill, Audra and their son Reed.
We had fun playing on the gold cart and enjoyed a beautiful steak dinner!
Stephen and Ez on the golf cart and 5 year old Reed hot on their heels on his dirt bike!
Daddy and Ez going for a ride- Ez loved it!

SEATTLE!! Part 1
Home, sweet home! It was great to go home after almost a year away (the last time I was home was for my baby shower last August). It was great seeing family and friends and picking up where we left off.
This was a very special visit because it was Esme's first post-womb visit to my home state. We saw a lot of people and did a lot of things but I tried hard not to make it too manic- I wanted people to enjoy their limited time with our special little girl!
If you go through the first few bits of this blog wonder where Grandma Julie is, know that we weren't able to see Grandma Julie for the first few days because she was on antibiotics and needed to be completely healthy so she wouldn't infect Ez. She was sad about this but wanted the best for Ez. Boy was she chomping at the bit by Sunday (the end of day three of her antibiotics)!
Here is a brief summary of our visit...
Meeting Grandpa John, Grandma Gale and Aunt Peggy for the first time
We stopped by the day after arrival for a quick visit. We were surprised to catch Auntie Peggy as she was leaving so she got to meet little Ez too!
Grandma and Grandpa were smitten with Ez (as expected). We hung out for an hour or two and returned the next say for an immediate family BBQ (more on that later).
Ez and Grandpa John
Ez and Grandma Gale
With Grandma and Grandpa
Meeting Aunt Peggy (cheeky little girl!)
Ez though My Dad and Gale's dog, Cadence, was a riot! She was laughing at Cadence and their other dog Daisy-too funny!
Here is a video of her reaction to Cadence and Daisy
Next stop was Great Grandpa Wil and Great Grandma Mardine's house! GG Wil had met Ez before but GG Mardine hadn't! She was extremely excited and thought Esme was a doll. Ez also met her first cousin, once removed "TJ," his fiance Jenice and Jenice's son Joey.
Here is a pic of GG Mardine, Joey and Ez
That night, we had a BBQ over at Dave and Vicki's. They were really excited to meet their first female granddaughter (they have three grandsons) and Ez got to meet Aunt Heidi, Uncle Robbie and cousins Zachary, Ashton and Logan! Ez even went for a cruise on a golf cart, played and with Bugsy the Rottweiler.
Ez loves dogs of all sizes. Bugsy is a complete lover and I am more comfortable with him around Ez than I was with my dad's three pound Yorkie. Bugsy loves all of his babies and watches over them like a hawk. Here are some of my fav pics of Esme and Bugs.
Ez and Granny Vick on the golf cart
The next morning we had breakfast with God Mama Tiff and Cassie in Seattle. It was a brilliant breakfast at a lovely place with fab food called Roxy's in Fremont. Tiff couldn't wait to get her hands on little Miss Esme.
Tiff gave Esme a spoon to play with for the first time and now it is a necessity at restaurants! She loves shiny things.
Sunday afternoon we had a BBQ at Grandpa John's and Grandma Gale's. At this BBQ Ez got to meet Aunt Rosa, Aunt Christine and Uncle Matt and Cousin Chloe.
It was fun to see Ez and Chloe try to interact and what a big difference three months makes!
Ez had a blast playing in the paddling pool too!
She even tried to stand up for the first time when she was in it!

The size difference between the girls is incredible! Chloe is a tall girl but long and lean like her mama.
